A latent print is a mixture of secretions from the three types of glands, the eccrine, the sebaceous, and the apocrine.

Water Solubility & Evidence

Latent print residue can be divided into two categories, water-soluble and water- insoluble. On most paper items the latent print residue is absorbed in to the document. Visualization is usually achieved with a chemical reaction between a reagent and one or more of the constituents in the latent print residue.

      Complex Evidence Processing

At GoEvidence Forensic Laboratories we understand the complexity of latent print development on documents and paper products. We know that chemical reagents may not always give satisfactory results. We offer conventional and novel testing techniques to solve these complex problems. Understanding the materials and the conditions that they have been exposed to is an important part of solving these complex problems.
